High-Fidelity Numerical Investigation on Elucidating Sodium Heat Transfer Characteristics for 37-Pin Wire-Wrapped Fuel Bundle in the PLANDTL Facility

This study involved a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes- (RANS-) based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the 37-pin wire-wrapped fuel bundle PNC Plant test loop (PLANDTL) facility. Previously, mainly hydrodynamic phenomena were analyzed, but present additionally included heat transfer through conjugate transfer. The main purpose was to benchmark experimental data PLANDTL investigate phenomena. In addition, aim verify accuracy RANS-based CFD method using STAR-CCM+ simulation software in comparison with data. grid used for verification an innovative system consisting hexahedra Fortran-based code. development methodology sensitivity analysis, turbulence model and turbulent Prandtl number analysis.
